We are so grateful for the support received during our Indiegogo campaign. We’ve got hundreds of emails asking us to continue improving and supporting Robomongo. We have not reached our goal, but we are still proud. We know for sure that there are a lot of people who love what we do and are always ready to help. 614 backers from 64 different countries donated to Save Robomongo. This is amazing!
We were thinking much and talking to a lot of people during this campaign. We’ve got a lot of ideas, including offers to create commercial distribution and limit functionality in community version. We don’t want to do that. We still want Robomongo to be free and open source.
We came up with the following plan. We are going to sell subscriptions for Robomongo beginning from February 8. The subscription allows you to download a new version of Robomongo as soon as it is released and to get a commercial support from our team. There are a lot of additional benefits planned for paid customers and we will soon announce them gradually. Robomongo is still going to be free for the entire community with the only one limitation: you’ll have to wait for 20 days until you can download the latest release. If you don’t want to wait — you can always build Robomongo from sources. It’s an open-source, in any way.
Today we have a new goal set for us: we are on the way to create a high-quality open-source product with a strong commercial support.
As was promised at the beginning of the campaign, we will return all Magic Backlog donations, if you ask us to. Please write to us on [email protected] and we will keep our promise in a couple of days.
